On August 4, 2020, at approximately 4:20 PM, an employee was walking outside between work stations in extreme heat. The employee had his duty gear on and was carrying a backpack with first responder gear when he collapsed. The employee had a heart attack and was hospitalized.

An employee suffered nose and eye socket fractures while using an ATV.

While on patrol, an employee was ejected from an ATV when it rolled over. The employee was hospitalized with broken ribs, contusions/bruising, and a brain bleed.

An employee suffered a lower leg muscle injury after severe exertion during training.

After exercising while on duty, an employee suffered arm and leg soreness due to a heat-related muscle injury. He was later hospitalized.

On March 19, 2022, an employee was working a 12-hour shift at an emergency room when, after 8 hours, she began to experience spasms in her right leg, down the thigh and to knee, and shortly after reported feeling her knee pop. The employee finished her shift. The next morning, the employee's knee was swollen and could not bend or bear weight. The employee was hospitalized.

An employee was working out in an onsite gym as part of his approved work activities. He strained his back while performing back extensions and was hospitalized.

After participating in a physical training exercise, an employee began to lose feeling in his lower extremities. He was hospitalized, having suffered bulging disks, an annular tear, and a muscle injury.

A wildland firefighter was physically training for the job when he started feeling aches in the shoulder area. Later that evening he felt extreme fatigue, and body aches in the shoulder area and legs. The following morning, the employee was hospitalized with a muscular injury.

An employee was assisting with patients in the emergency department. The employee became faint, weak, and lethargic in part due to exhaustion, then began having seizures. The employee was hospitalized for surgery.

An employee was activating the sprinkler system at a sports complex following recent maintenance to repair leaky pumps. When the system was activated, a section of newly installed 3-inch schedule 80 PVC pipe struck the employee, who lost consciousness. The employee suffered a broken jaw and a concussion.

An employee was ascending a flight of stairs after exiting their vehicle in an adjacent employee parking lot. The employee stepped to the right to avoid another employee on the left who was descending the stairs. The employee lost their balance and fell on the stairs. They were hospitalized with a laceration/abrasion to their chin, a fractured left humerus, and bruising to their left knee.

An employee was working on an electrical panel in a mechanical room when an arc flash occurred. The employee suffered burns.

At about 3:10 p.m. on October 3, 2025, an employee was inspecting a car. Two dogs that had been in another car were leashed and tethered to a bollard. As the employee inspected the first car along with a narcotics detection dog, one of the other dogs came loose and attacked the narcotics dog. The employee was separating the dogs when the other dog bit his left ring finger. The last joint of the finger was injured and part of it was bitten off.

An employee was climbing a fixed ladder to perform maintenance in an attic. While unlocking the attic entry, the employee fell from the ladder more than 10 feet to the concrete below. The employee suffered a fractured hip, pelvis, tail bone, arm, and elbow, resulting in hospitalization and surgery.

On September 25, 2025, an employee climbed an aluminum extension ladder and was on top of the roof of a building She was walking around on the roof, inspecting and evaluating it. She was descending the ladder when the ladder slid to the right and twisted around as she hung onto it. She then fell 10-12 feet to the paved parking lot and the ladder landed on top of her. She sustained a fractured left collarbone, multiple other fractures, and had bruising to the left side of her abdomen.

At about 5:55 p.m. on August 9, 2025, an employee lost his footing while climbing an access ladder to a 12-foot-high spotlight platform. He fell about 9 feet to the ground, breaking eight ribs on the right side.

On August 1, 2025, an employee was preparing to initiate canine training when they were bitten by a dog on the neck and face.

An employee was completing an annual work capacity test. Later that night, the employee experienced severe pain in their left leg and was hospitalized with rhabdomyolysis and compartment syndrome in the lower left leg.

An employee was setting chains to secure a concrete barrier to a front-end loader. The chain became twisted and lost slack. The concrete barricade fell on the employee's left foot, causing a partial amputation to a toe.
