On 1/19/2017, at approximately 1830, an employee was attempting to remove a die key from a steam-powered forging hammer when his leg became caught and injured between the key knocker ram and the hammer.
An employee was working as a hammer forge helper in a crew of seven employees. As the hammer forge cycled, a piece of metal shot out from it and broke the employee's lower right leg.
An employee used the emergency stop to turn off the trim press. Hydraulic pressure released out of the cylinder, allowing the press to come down onto the employee's hand and amputate two fingers.
