An employee was at her post at a center gate when a male inmate walked toward her. She directed him to turn around and go back to his dorm but he did not comply. She sprayed the inmate with pepper spray and then tripped and fell on the floor as she was walking backwards. The inmate jumped on her and stabbed her twice in the abdomen area with a piece of metal, puncturing her liver. She was hospitalized.
