An employee went over to where two other employees were working on a pump to see if the belt was aligned. The motor turns on and off via a float. When the motor turned off, the employee attempted to check the drive belt s tension. The motor then kicked on, and his hand was caught between the belt and the pulley, amputating two fingers.
