An employee had been cleaning a paint gun. He tripped over the paint hose, lost balance and pulled the trigger of the paint gun. His left hand was sprayed with methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) and the force of the spray cut his glove and caused a laceration to the hand. The employee was hospitalized for infection.

An employee was under a truck taking the transmission out. The truck, which was supported by blocks, fell and the gas tank pinned the employee to the floor. He sustained injury to the hips, leg, and lower back.

An employee was installing wood trim surrounding a skylight inside a home. While holding a piece of trim in it's desired location, his pneumatic nail gun discharged, sending a 3/4-inch pin nail into his left forearm.

He used his gloved hand to feel for and clean the defected spots when his glove got caught in the measuring wheel, which rolls along the top of the steel to ensure accurate cuts. The employee's arm was pulled down into the machine until his body was stopped by a support bar that goes across the machine. The employee's arm was fractured at the elbow and required hospitalization.
