An employee placed a customer's car onto an automotive lift to check the wheel bearings. The employee manually spun the wheel to emulate movement in order to hear if the wheel bearing was bad. While the wheel was spinning the employee's left index finger was caught between the wheel and the brake rotor amputating the finger to the first knuckle.
