An employee had just filled a water tank in a plant. After he removed the hose, the employee used his left middle finger to check the seal on the tank. As he was removing his finger from the tank and simultaneously stepping down from the work platform, he ring was caught in the tank and the left middle fingertip was amputated. He was hospitalized.
