A deck hand was attaching a shackle to a deck line and a hole in a dolphin (circular bridge protection dome) on the water when the shackle released and landed on his fingers. He sustained amputation of his left pinky fingertip and a laceration to his left ring finger.

An employee was helping move low-profile barriers on a roadway. The employee was trying to snug a nut on the lower bolt of a barrier when the barrier was moved. The employee's little finger was caught between the side of the barrier and the nut, resulting in amputation and hospitalization.
On August 12, 2020, a mechanic was lubricating the boom cable of a crawler crane and caught his right hand between the cable and the sheave resulting in the amputation of his right middle, index and pinky fingers. He was hospitalized.
