An employee was attempting to align a brick in a strapping machine when the employee's fingers were caught in the machine, resulting in the removal of skin from two fingers.
A temporary employee cleaned a tripper and radioed the operator to restart the machine. The employee was then caught in a rotating shaft, suffering a left shoulder dislocation and left arm fracture that required hospitalization. The guard was removed at the time of the incident.
