An employee was at a construction site, standing beside a vehicle track being carried by a forklift. The forklift lowered the track. As it hit the ground, the employee lost his balance and fell. A portion of the track slid off the forks and struck him as he tried to stand up. He suffered a broken back vertebra, a broken left eye socket, and a laceration to the back of the head.
