An employee had just washed out an emulsifier feed auger, a piece of equipment with two rotating augers. He noticed that liquid was no longer draining from the equipment. As he tried to free any product that might be causing a plug, the lower auger amputated his right index finger up to the nail.

The machine tipped toward the injured employee while it was being moved, striking the employee's right leg below the knee.
