Final narrative
On February 7, 2022, an employee moved an empty, sealed 55-gallon steel drum next to the work bench, put on safety glasses and leather gloves, and began cutting the drum with an angle grinder. The cutting work ignited ethanol vapors in the empty drum, resulting in a blow back incident that knocked the employee down. The employee suffered a broken arm that required hospitalization.
