Final narrative
Two employees were team-lifting a reel bar to insert it into a new reel of wire. As the employees were walking toward the reel of wire, the injured employee tripped on a concrete parking bumper and fell onto the curb. As he fell, he released his grip on the reel bar and it landed on his left hand. The left middle fingertip was amputated.
An employee was tightening a winch cable wire rope on the front of a truck when his right index finger was caught between the winch rollers and a rope swage collar. The employee sustained a fingertip amputation, approximately to the first knuckle.
An electrical crew was in the final stages of a hurricane restoration project. One of the employees was removing the protective coverup equipment when he noticed potential movement in a connection or energized cable.
