An employee was using a portable ladder to position and tack-weld steel panels onto sections of a ship. A panel was suspended from an overhead crane, and the employee was positioning it. As he was ratcheting the panel, it pinched his thumb against the ladder. The tip of the thumb was amputated above the nail.
On September 5, 2024, an employee was working from a ladder and aligning the top plate on a module when he lost his balance and fell 12-15 feet from the ladder through the opening of the module to the floor. The employee was hospitalized with a laceration on his head and three fractured ribs.
