An employee was investigating a jammed garage door on a storage shed. One of the two door cables had come off the pulley; the other was stuck. When the tension was released on the stuck cable, it fell off the pulley, pulled taut around the employee's right thumb, and amputated half to three-quarters of an inch from the tip. The employee was hospitalized.
