An employee was using steam to unclog a line. When the clog dislodged, the steam hose burst out of the top of the tank and sprayed steam onto the employee. He sustained burns to the right side of his back, buttocks, and the back of his upper right leg.

Upon exiting the area, the employee lost consciousness, fell down the stairs, and struck his forehead and nose. The employee awoke at the bottom of the stairs in a puddle of water runoff. He was hospitalized with a forehead laceration, nose fracture, chemical inhalation, and chemical exposure to the eyes.
