Two employees were performing maintenance on a vehicle by flushing the coolant system. The employees went to start the car when a fire started at the under carriage of the passenger side. One employee was inside the vehicle while the other employee was in front of the vehicle. Both employees sustained second-degree burns.
The injured employee was reaching for the hood latch in the front of a pickup truck when it was starting and the clutch failed, causing it to lurch forward. The brush guard struck his left hip and pinned him between the truck and a car. The employee sustained bruises to both legs.
