Final narrative
On October 21, 2023, at approximately 8:30 AM, an employee was performing repairs on a seal and filter cap assembly on an egg white filler tower to stop a leak. The piston was activated and the employee's right thumb tip was pinched between the filter cap and seal, resulting in a partial amputation.
An employee was shoveling a pile of manure onto a manure belt. The employee was attempting to clean up manure that fell off the belt when his long-sleeve shirt got snagged in a manure belt, causing his left arm to get pulled in between the belt and roller. The employee suffered a fractured arm and loss of skin on his arm and hand. The machine was in operation at the time of the incident.
An employee was standing on a 12-foot A-frame ladder, pushing manure in a dump truck bed with a shovel. The employee slipped and fell to the concrete ground, suffering a broken neck vertebra, two herniated neck vertebrae, and two fractures to the left arm.
