As they tossed the motor, it appeared to be off-target, so they went to push and redirect it while it was in the air. During this action, their right ring and little fingers were caught between the falling motor and the edge of the dumpster. The employee suffered a crush injury to the ring finger and an amputation of the little finger above the top knuckle.
