On July 10, 2025, two crews were removing stripes and then re-striping pavement in a lane that was fully closed. The injured employee was assisting a subcontracted blasting truck with backing up approximately 1,000 feet to continue stripe removal operations. After giving directions, the employee went to mark additional spots when the truck knocked him to the ground and rolled over his lower half, resulting in fractures to both legs, his hip, and his right ankle.

South-Point Constructors

While unbolting a flange on a water pipe, the final bolt jammed and could not be removed. The forks on a loader were used to wiggle the part to work the bolt free. When the bolt broke free, the tank shifted to the right 20 inches, pinning an employee between the two tanks. The employee sustained several fractured ribs and injury to their lungs.

An employee was diagnosing the cause of a rear light malfunction on a forklift when the reverse gear engaged. The forklift moved backward and contacted the employee causing a metatarsal fracture in their left foot and injury to their lower right leg.

An employee was collecting shopping carts in the parking lot when he was struck by a customer's truck as it was backing out of a parking spot. The truck pinned the employee's left leg against the cart mule they were using. The employee was hospitalized with a fractured leg and required surgery.

An employee was working with paving equipment and heard a noise on the opposite side of the machine he was working on. When the machine stopped, the employee went to the opposite side and crouched down to investigate the noise. A mini track loader backed up and drove over the employee's leg. The employee sustained fractures to their lower leg, ankle, and foot.

An employee took a picture of the seal and license plate on a delivery truck after loading. The truck then reversed back to the dock and pinned the injured employee against the dock. The employee sustained an abdominal fracture.

An employee was between a milling machine and an 18-wheeler belly dump when the 18-wheeler backed up and ran over his feet and legs. The employee was caught between the front of the milling machine and the truck. The employee sustained fractures to their hip, leg, and feet.

When the inspection was completed, the employee turned around at the edge of the fire escape platform to descend the ladder to the ground floor. A construction worker was descending the fire escape from the floor above. There were vibrations, and the employee's right foot gave out, causing them to fall approximately 10 feet to the ground. The employee sustained fractures to their nose and right cheekbone, and three fractures to the pelvis. The employee was hospitalized and required surgery.

On March 5, 2025, an employee was lifting a 49-pound roller die onto an angle roller machine. The die dropped while they were setting it down. It landed on their right little finger, amputating some of the tissue on the finger. The employee sustained a medical amputation of the finger including bone.

An employee was operating a pedestal-mounted core drill to obtain core samples. The employee had reached the bottom of the concrete pavement while operating the drill and the drill bit stopped spinning. After reengaging the drilling process, the injured employee raised the drill bit halfway out of the concrete pavement and fell off the pedestal plate, hitting his head on the concrete pavement. The employee sustained a head injury including loss of consciousness, bleeding, bruising, and facial fractures.
