On June 27, 2024, two employees were doing a lineup of a vessel (metal drum) to be filled through a fixed pipe with heated water. The lid of the vessel became unseated and a burping action occurred, spraying hot water onto an employee. The employee was hospitalized with burns to their back, left arm, left leg, and right hip.

Water began entering the vat from the adjoining vat through a void in the separation wall at the infeed of the vats. It pooled at the bottom of the wader and burned his left foot and ankle.
