An employee reached through the vertical bars of a powered gate to enter the code on the keypad. The gate opened and the employee's hand was caught in the bars. The gate moved for 5 to 7 seconds and the employee was dragged 3 to 5 feet. The employee sustained a compound fracture of the lower right arm.
