A traffic control employee fell 30 inches into an open excavation, resulting in a fractured tibia and fibula.
An employee was flagging traffic to slow down for a customer operating an excavator. The excavator reversed and ran over the employee's feet. The right foot sustained fractures and the left foot was injured.
An employee was in a traffic attenuator truck protecting the crew who were putting sign covers on the advance warning signs when a vehicle ran into the back of the truck, resulting in injuries that required hospitalization.
An employee was setting up a lane closure. A Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) was stationed in the roadway with the crash cushion in the downward position. The arrow board was mounted on the TMA in the upward position with the arrow activated instructing the traffic to move over. The pilot vehicle with a trailer attached was approximately 102 feet in front of the TMA. The employee was between the pilot vehicle and the TMA, standing on the berm of the road with one foot on the berm and one foot on the fog line. A motorist went around the TMA and then took evasive action, came back across the lane, and struck the employee. The employee was hospitalized with broken ribs, a broken leg, and a head injury.
