What happened

A coworker was helping with a butterfly stick for a lab draw. I picked up the needle to dispose in the sharps container and felt a poke to my right pointer finger knuckle. After looking at the needle I noticed the cover wasn 't completely engaged. I didn 't notice a hole in my glove and had no obvious signs of bleeding. However I did have a small red spot maybe blood on my knuckle.
