Employee was bolting on splice plates to a beam.

Employee was bolting on splice plates to a steel beam that was resting on a 1.5 vertical plate that was welded to the web of the beam. The narrow edge of the vertical beam was on the ground (stones) supporting the heavy end of the beam. The employee was crouched down next to the beam using an impact driver. When the employee was getting up the employee pushed down on the splice plate which rotated the beam toward the employee. The beam did not rotate fully to ground but the splice plate did pinch employee 's lower right leg with the ground.
