Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of electrical shock, burns, bruises or lacerations from the accidental contact with live electrical components: a.)F/V ALASKA PATRIOT: The ground pin was missing from an extension cord that was run through a doorway from the engine room to shaft alley. b.)Ground pin was missing from a blue extension cord in the upper engine room. c.)There was a 2-wire extension cord in use to provide electrical power to the ungrounded, 2-wire, hot box in the case-up room. Feasible methods of abatement include, but are not limited to, removing and destroying the extension cords or replacing the plugs, and replacing the electrical power supply cord to the hot box with a grounded cord.ded
