Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to a FALL HAZARD:
a)On or about 11/25/2002, A scissor lift was being used to install metal
siding
at a height of 26 feet and 6 inches from the ground and two employees were
standing on a wooden board placed on the mid-rail which required the
employees to work above the top rail without fall protection.
Among other methods, several feasible and acceptable abatement methods to
correct
this hazard are to:
1.Instruct employees operating out of a scissor lift to have both feet on
the
platform floor at all times.
2.Use an aerial lift with proper reach for the work to be done.
3.Provide fall protection in accordance with ANSI/SIA A92.6-1999, Chapter
7.
