Sources of ignition may include open flames, lightning, smoking, cutting and welding, hot surfaces, frictional heat, sparks (static, electrical, and mechanical), spontaneous ignition, chemical and physical-chemical reactions, and radiant heat.      a. On 02/15/2012 in the compressor room, the employer allowed the smoking of cigarrettes around cans of flammable primer.  Extinguished cigarettes were present in a paper box next to flammable products.
