The established procedures for the application of energy control (the lockout or tagout procedures) shall cover the following elements and actions and shall be done in the following sequence:   On or about December 23, 2019, the employer did not ensure an employee making adjustments to the line #15 cheese slicer machine performed and followed the established energy control procedures by; ensuring the machine was turned off [per 1910.147(d)(2) requirements], isolating the machine from the energy source(s) [(d)(3)], affixing a lockout device [(d)(4)(i)], and verifying de-energization and isolation had been accomplished [(d)(6)], prior to adjusting the machine.
