29 CFR 1910.22(d)(1): The employer did not ensure that walking-working surfaces are inspected, regularly and as necessary, and maintained in a safe condition: a.) Erie Plating Company - On or about 5/4/22, and at times prior thereto, the walking surface around the chemicals tanks was not inspected regularly to ensure it was in good condition. A portion of the walking surfaces wooden frame collapsed as an employee was walking through the area. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.22(b): The employer did not ensure that each walking-working surface can support the maximum intended load for that surface. a.) Erie Plating Company - On or about 5/4/22, and at times prior thereto, the walking surface around the chemicals tank could not support employee's walking on them. The walking surface was being deteriorated by chemicals in the work area being splashed and dripped onto the walkway. A portion of the walking surfaces wooden frame collapsed while an employee was walking through the area. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1904.41(a)(2): Annual electronic submission of OSHA Form 300A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses by establishments with 20 or more employees but fewer than 250 employees in designated industries. If your establishment had 20 or more employees but fewer than 250 employees at any time during the previous calendar year, and your establishment is classified in an industry listed in appendix A to subpart E of this part, then you must electronically submit information from OSHA Form 300A Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses to OSHA or OSHA's designee. You must submit the information once a year, no later than the date listed in paragraph (c) of this section of the year after the calendar year covered by the form. a.) Erie Plating Company - As of 5/12/22, the company had not submitted the 2021 injury and illness data. The establishment employed 46 employees during calendar year 2021 and was required to submit the data by March 2, 2022. 29 CFR 1910.22(d)(2): 29 CFR 1910.22(d)(2): The employer did not ensure that hazardous conditions on walking-working surfaces are corrected or repaired before an employee uses the walking-working surface again. The employer did not ensure that if the correction or repair cannot be made immediately, the hazard is guarded to prevent employees from using the walking-working surface until the hazard is corrected or repaired. a.) Erie Plating Company - On or about 5/12/22, and at times prior thereto, the deteriorated walking surface around the chemicals tanks was not guarded completely to keep employees out of the area while waiting for repairs to be made. Cones and tape were utilized to keep employees away from the hazard but they were not placed far enough away from the hazard. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
