On January 16, 2019, at approximately 3:35 p.m., a machine operator was working to run normal production on the ravioli forming machine. The employee was tasked with continuously supplying (feeding) the filling into the machine and to start/stop the machine to make small production adjustments to the product. At some point during production, the injured employee contacted moving components inside the machine and sustained an amputation, without bone loss, to the middle fingertip of the left hand.
