An employee was attempting to free a pallet stuck on its roller system. The pallet would not move so the employee braced himself against the mezzanine guardrail system and pushed. The weld on the steel upright broke and the employee fell to the floor, breaking both legs and suffering one compound fracture. He was hospitalized and had surgery.
