An employee was conducting an experiment with a rat. The rat bit a finger (first digit) on the employee's left hand that resulted in swelling and pain due to an infection. The employee was hospitalized for treatment.

An employee was using a portable table saw to cut wooden strips when a wood strip kicked back, pulling their left hand into the rotating blade. The employee's left index finger and another finger were lacerated, and the ring fingertip was amputated to the joint. The employee was hospitalized.

An employee was working to secure a full-size enclosed pan rack, measuring 69 inches tall, that was on the liftgate of a box truck. As the liftgate was lowered, the pan rack rolled down from the liftgate and fell onto the employee, causing her to fall to the ground. An employee was cutting extruded aluminum framing material using a horizontal band saw. She went to grab a rag in the machine when the rag contacted the blade and pulled her hand in toward the blade, resulting in a partial amputation of the right index finger.
