An employee using an overhead crane to move a main shaft of a wind turbine to stage the shaft for transportation. The variable speed crane began to move faster and the load began to swing. The employee went to halt the shaft s swinging and their hand got caught between the main shaft that was swinging and a stationary main shaft. The employee's right arm was fractured, requiring hospitalization and surgery.
