Final narrative
An employee was in the northbound lane of a bridge doing concrete patch work. A vehicle in the southbound lane entered a work zone that had been set up by another employee doing overhead sign work. The vehicle struck the median barrier, which caused bridge forms to come loose and strike the injured employee. The employee sustained a broken right rib, lacerated liver, and punctured lung.
An employee was in a coned-off work area on a street, performing a granular turf application. While he was standing between his spreader machine and a truck, loading the spreader with bags of fertilizer, a car drove by and struck the spreader. The employee was pinned between the spreader and the truck and suffered bruises, scratches, and cuts to his legs (particularly the left knee), arms (particularly the right elbow), and left shoulder.
