An employee was assisting a lineman to get a wire strand unstuck from a reel. A vehicle was driving by and caught the strand on the ground; the employee's arm and hand were caught by the strand and crushed in the reel. The employee sustained amputations to fingers and required surgery for her hand. Some fingers were reattached.
