Final narrative
After loading a truck, an employee pulled away from the dock so that he could swing the trailer doors shut. Upon looking at the load from the ground, he noticed that a pallet at the rear of the load might shift or tip in transit and decided to install a load strap to restrain the product. After installing the strap, he stepped back to inspect his work and fell off the edge of the trailer, fracturing his right tibia.
An employee was working to unload ATV equipment from a semi-trailer by driving the equipment off the trailer. About 30 minutes later he felt ill. The employee was hospitalized with dehydration due to heat.
A truck driver was unloading freight with a manual pallet jack. He was standing on the liftgate of the trailer when he fell back onto the pavement. He struck the left side of his head and ribs, and was hospitalized with one fractured rib.
