An employee was adjusting a hydraulic press machine to push out a seal. The employee was moving the piece to be pressed when a second employee initiated the press to start the process to remove the seal. The ram came down and amputated the tip of the left little finger.
An employee was loading sand from a commercial vehicle into a locomotive. When the door of the sand tank was opened, the pressure caused it to strike the employee in the face, causing lacerations and a fracture to the left side of the face.
